i din't get lost going to low yat-alone!!! (big achievement)

well, if u're a loyal reader(haha, jz writting that to make myself feel gooo~ood) u wud hv noticed i havnt been blogging for quite some time d. well, its either my life has become so dull that i dunno what to blog about or probably too excited till i dunno where to start. well, i can say its neither. its jz that i've been choking with assignments, tests, quizes and so forth for the past week, n when i finally have the time to blog, my inspiration n mood goes to my ever-tempting hostel bed. ok, enuf crapping, i shall write about my day in kl. the story was this: rememeber my dying baby mp3? well, it's fixed! hallelujah! so i had to go low yat to retrieve it. n since i had to meet someone in kl so i arranged everything to get my butt down. good thing lovena had to go there too, to get some information on tatoo places n body piercing 'services' for her law project. her fren ,nicholas, came to accompany her. i told her i'll b doing my own stuff in kl, then i'll meet her again when we're done. so when i got down to sg wang, i kena ffk. well, i cant get mad...i never do. so i went along with lovena. we had lunch at a jap restaurant on the 6th floor. pretty nice place. nick paid for it. then we went to the tatoo parlour, which was not what i assumed it wud look it. it was brightly lit, with alot of pix on the wall, of ppl with tatoos n pierced body parts. the guy asked lovena to come on week days so her mission failed. then we went to get my mp3, walked around, nick went to cut his hair, lovena went for a Lan CÔme thingy where they give u free make up n free photo shoots n a free magazine if u pay 30bux to subscribe for some stuff. i was waiting there for her then the ffk-er called n said he'll meet me in 20 mins to pass me something. so i waited 10 mins n started to walk to low yat(i knew that i din know the way so i needed 10 mins to get lost) suprisingly i found my way thru to low yat, waited there for about 15 mins, then he called n said he was in a jam, so i waited sumore. saw khai shang n some st john juniours (found out that st johns won 1st prize for marching comp! so happy for them, n felt a little shameful of myself-coz i din get best commander when i was one back then) then waited sumore, until i beh tahan, n started to walk back to lovena. when i got back, nick was with lovena waiting for me at a very expensive coffee house, drinking a cup of 12-buck coffee each. i sat there waiting for the call, then ran back as soon as he called. got a very very beautiful wrap-around-skirt. jz that i think he forgot that i was short, n the skirt is too long for me... got back to them then we went back to nilai. for the whole day, i jz spent money on transportation per se. honestly, i wud have stayed in n finished up my draft on sat n relaxed on sun if i knew i was gonna spend it this way. newayz, i shall let by gones b by gones. till next time, ciouuzzzz

tricks u never wanna teach ur com

when u nid them the most, they will always fail u... i'm refering 'them' to computers n technical stuff. my com here, has been faithfully serving me for the past few years and it has always been very smart in sencing when i nid it the most, and that is when it will shut down on me. lately, ms jun my english lecturer wanted us to hand in all the past works that we have done, and i, who have trusted my com to the max, nicely saved my work in my C drive. now that i desperately need those stuff, microsoft has to play tricks on me by restarting my com automatically whenever i open a file from microsoft. ms mok my econs teacher, who admits that she like torturing us, also made us hand in our presentation's hard copy to her by friday. and i couldnt open my power point file on thurs nite. just the rite time rite? such a smart computer i have. good thing we were smart enuf to re-locate my files n did the hardcopy thing on time with my partner, nicole's laptop. another case is my new, baby mp3. i bought i mainly for leisure n pleasure, heehee. n now that i've got to start interviewing ppl for my eng n law research, my mp3 also learnt my computer's style= play dead. just great! hopefully ntg goes wrong wtih my hp, or i'll die of veins-popping-in-my-head sickness. well, i better end it here b4 my com goes haywire again. wish me luck even in posting this blog...

a change?

hot baths- exactly wat u nid on a rainy day, though its not in a hot tub with bubbles or rose petals, but a hot bath is wat i nid rite now. n of all times, someone has to b in the hot water cubicle. every single time, i repeat, every single time i wanna have a hot bath, someone has to b there. except for one time i was bathing really late at nite. grace doesnt face this difficulty. its jz me. its jz weird. why me? so out of desperation, i resorted to the cold showers. well, i must say i'm not so much of a cold person(though a cold shower can b very refreshing) but i still prefer being hot/warm. as i was taking that super cold shower, i realized how stuborn i was. when someone was using the hot bath, i wud wait there with my pail n towel. i jz wouldnt give in for a change. when ppl r so comfortable with wat they hv, then it would take one million good reasons for a change, or else u cud jz 4get about it. the comfort zone really holds tight to the lazy bums who jz wouldnt opt for something new--its natural. take hin loong for example. he was telling us of his pharmacy experience while driving us back from makan. he said he goes to this pharmacy n buys stuff from that place. one panadol pill cost him 2 bux, n he buys 5 pill. he keeps going to that place, until one fine day it was closed. so he had go a little further to another pharmacy..which sold 40 cents per pill. he never knew about that until he CHANGED. well, cant blame him for that... poor sick guy. but then if we were more used to change, we wud b living in a more flexible world, accepting new trends n new discoveries. maybe the change cud b better, but of course, maybe not. so far, i've never heard of ppl dying coz of change, well, maybe not to a certain extend. anyhow, its all in the mind set. u either set it to b a firm mind set, or u set it to b flexible n adventurous with a little thing they call 'change'...

hearing aids for mamak

every single time i order maggie mee goreng TAK MAU PEDAS, they would nicely gimme maggie mee goreng pedas. then when it comes i'll ask "pedas tau tak?" they'll say "sikit sikit..." (in actual fact its the spicy one)wat is this man! i tot u wrote it down on that small frail piece of paper!!?!?! its not that i cant eat spicy food, i jz dun like it... so there goes, mamaks need special hearing aids that help them detect phrases like TAK MAU PEDAS. newayz, i went melati jz now with liz, clara, n xiou tong for diner n that was where i got my most recent maggie goreng 'sikit sikit' pedas. then i met clara's fren, rueben from india, engineering student. he looked familiar initially, then i found out he was lead singer of the band that usually performs in college events called 'wonderers', i think. woohoo, glad to hv this chance to meet him. too bad their team performed their last performance at the squashaton last week. well, i wanna blog on my weekend but i dun hv much time n mostly coz i cant remember anything -not tha anything drastic happened. jz remembered i got to see jerome! n i watched kingdom of heaven. thats about it. ~peace out~

*music*

music, my companion n medicine. when i'm happy, it makes me happier n upbeat. its also like my plaster when i'm hurt n down. some songs make me feel hyper, some songs can make me sit still n shut up, some can make me feel like i'm falling in love all over again, some brings back long forgotten memories, some can even make me feel kinda sexy, hahaha. music~ it can easily change my mood[if u know how to pick the rite songs] lately, i've been forcing instrumental music into my ears, blasting it on my headset, trying to drown the twins songs played by my neighbour. they said listening to intrumental songs can boost ur IQ, but i jz find it very artistic. how on earth can maxim play so many notes in one go? its like he's playing the piano with his fingers n toes. i also noticed i cud culculate faster while listening to the flight of a bumble bee. music~ oldies especially, can make me admire, the way beegees pull the high notes thru out the whole song, n how girls can fall for 4 mushroom-headed beetles, how elvise can dance properly in his bell-bottoms singing "u aint ntg but a hound dog". its a wonder. music~ chinese songs r always sentimental. its like their gonna cry any moment. but its still nice after all. the fast beat ones r also pretty cool, rapping in chinese is cooler. music~ ballards that have trumpets ballowing like no one's business. its like u can imagine broadway dancers kicking in can-cans singing "new york! new york!".definitely can fight with bollywood dancers. music~ hip hop n r&b, goes watzup????!!! to all da shorteys n all u dawgs r my homieeesss yoyo! heehee. finally, the jazz and the blues. soothing n jazzy.... i was listening to michael buble then frank sinatra, n felt like i was listening to something twice. they were practically singing the same song, so it was like double pleasure. music~poetry~beat~rhythm....

stuffed sunday

last sunday.. that was yesterday to b exact, i went to city harvest church at sunway. phui yee came to pick me up,then keith then sandra, then all the way to tropicana to fetch ming, then to sunway. took us such a long time to get there... man it was tuff sitting at the back seat of a kembara, with 2 guys squishing me in the middle. when we got there, i was suprised to c that i was walking into a building in between used-car store-place/bengkel/watever u call them. there wasnt any signs that leads to this church.pretty rugged on the outside, but when i stepped into the church, it was like a totally different world. fully carpeted n air conditioned. this tall, fair n handsome usher showed us the way to the hall. the lobby was a little small, but it opened up to a huge place (looks pretty much like a studio with alot of seats facing the stage and spot lights hung from the ceiling), half filled with young ppl. we were kinda early, so we got to get good seats. half of the seats were on flat carpeted ground, n the other half were some sort elivated(like in a lecture theater). i really like the usher system, where all the guys will wear a tie n a suit, n girls will wear something very formal with heels, n all of them had headfons on. chun man... very cekap also. i met timothy chan b4 the service started, met some of his frends but i cud hardly rememer any names rite now. there was this choir group by the side of the stage, with a condensed mic hanging from the ceiling. there were 3 worship leaders n some back up vocalist. 2 pianist, 1 basis, 1 guitarist, 1 drummer. worship was nice, something very different. then ps kevin loo preeched on daily encounters with God. the service ended at 12. chatted with tim n his cg frends for a while, then saw karen(from nilai international coll) there too. later, we left for segambut to have lunch(dun ask me y go so far). the long awaited seafood noodle finally came...good thing i had breakfast. the bowl was pretty big, with 3 huge prawns, alot of lalas n oysters, sotongs, fish, seaweed.... starting to drool? well, heck yea i enjoyed that meal.... of course i had to! it costed me 11bux! the small bowl was 11, the big was 13. n it wasnt in any fancy dinner place with nice air fresheners sprayed every few minuites... we were eating that ambrosial under a tree! thank goodness it was leafy n shaddy, or we'd melt(some were eating the tomyam n curry flavoured)--so imagine the 'pleasure'. went home after that, slept like a pig coz i was really stuffed. woke up to the smell of durians that floated from the living room. mom bought home alot of durians from the durian fare at church. dad n i licked the tuperwear clean... was again--stuffed. after packing for another week in hostel, i went to this hse in midah for an appreciation party for the cheras churches youth concert. and again i was stuffed. the lagsania n drumstick was awesome. had more than enuf that nite while fellowshiping with ppl from other churches. too bad kat n ben din come, i really enjoyed being with them during the concert practices. left at about 9.40 to nilai, had to discuss some stuff with nicole regarding the presentation on thu. if it wasnt for that, i'd b going to edmund's hse for another bbq time with the senior yuffs. well, cant complain....i had a stuffed sunday, and AMEN to that!

encounter with migrants

entirely for my law project, i had to go all the way to kl to conduct an interview with some social activist:dr. irene fernandez. dont ask me wat a social activist is but i know it is very political n i wish not to go into that. i left college with a malay girl from march intake SAM, lyana, at about 12. i entered the ebony black E240 benz, with a big smile on my face, introducing myself to her parents in the front seats. they were nice ppl, especially her mom. after the into blah blah, i dozed off n didnt know where we were heading to. when i woke up ,about to ask her where we were, her mom poped her head from the front n said they're going back to their home to do some stuff, then "we'll shoot off at 1pm sharp" n i was like, o..k..., so where is this place? n i saw the huge sign board [[BANGI]] the land of the rich malays~~ the auto-gate was chun-er then the ones in the city, the entrance was so grand i tot i was still sleeping in that E240. there was this japanese theme where they had little stone walk ways leading to some chun water fall n 'koi' fish swimming in clear water of the 'pond'. her dad parked the car beside a toyota n a benz, then i entered the hse with my jaw falling to the floor. the interior had this malayish aura, yet modern enuf to suit the rich. bonzai plants were placed beside huge plastic orcid plants, and the marble titles on the floor spelt 'expensive' on it. they went inside, after asking me to sit on that humungus brown couch. they were walking around, smilling at me when they walked pass, doing their own stuff as i sat in awe, with my jaw still on the floor. the kakak served me some pink liquid in a crystal glass which was heavier than my head i think. left at 1 sharp, seriously 1 sharp. down to town on jalan tunku abdul rahman, to the TENAGANITA hq. inside that penthouse, a sprial stairway headed up to God knows where. lyana, her mom n i waited by the reception, with alot of migrants beside us. we waited for more than half n hour b4 we were entertained, went into the office of that activist, which had posters of anuar on the wall. she was a very firm lady, who made her motives clear at the start. her knowledge about the immigration procedure was so wide, for a moment i tot i went to the wrong place for my topic. but then i got my point straight as she also dealt with abuse cases. left the place at about 3.45, waited for dad to pick me up feeling hungry n tired(i did not have lunch-which then i survived on a packet of nips). droped aunt jocelyn off at sg long, n i had roti pisang at a mamak restaurant with dad. came back to nilai at 6.15 went straight for cf. i wish to continue blogging about cf, but its jz that i've been telling wat happened in cf to 3 ppl who din go for the thing n i dun feel like saying it all over again. so thats it for today. over n out

prom nite

prom to me, was supposed to b something grand and romantic, with dancing, meeting new ppl, getting dressed up, walking into a grand ballroom grasping on to ur partner's arms, have a pleasant dinner, have a spiced up good nite kiss when he sends u back, floating back to ur room to dream the sweetest dream ever... k, though the last part doesnt count, but i find this whole intiball thing not up to the level that i expected. actually i expected something like this to happen in a msian prom... it's not all lovey dovey with clouds around angels dancing gracefully... intiball+msian college students=picture taking+picture taking+more picture taking. none of the guys i know knows how to dance ballroom dance. instead they jz stepped on my toes as i hopelessly cling on to my stiff partner. the mcs were mumbling some weird language that u have to close ur eyes to concentrate on the words to form it into the normal english language. the performances were so out of place- the band played the jumbo song...where the only thing that caught my eye was the conductor enthusiastically waving his hands and rear end with the beat of the jumbo song.the food was cold. my partner was cold(so we went out for a stroll-which was pretty romantic). every girl dressed 'too much' to suit this situation i must say. some looked like wifes of tycoons with huge curls on their heads, and some has dresses on so gaudily that some shortsighted ppl mite mistaken them for an illuminated christmas tree. i was among the few who dressed in a simple manner, having the ability to camouflage with the back scene during photo sessions. anyhow, i must give credit to the door gifts that they lavishly gave out- chip magazines, facial wash, nescafe packets, oil blotters... and most of all, condoms! well... 80bucks... nicely spent eh? with all the bad points flooding this blog, i must say i'm very glad that someone special was there experiencing that social faux pas with me.

icf rally 05

one thing i realized after the cf rally: ppl start wearing pink polo tshirts around college(yes, even guys)...why?! no one wore that b4 the rally.. i'm not saying that ppl are following my personal fashion statement or something, maybe it's jz that ppl din realize how sweet n innocent the color pink brings out, until i wore it in the rally...hahaha, nola jz kiding... its amazing how things work here in college... according to terry, theres a pink shirt day for the guys in college. they din set a day for it, but simply through some sort of telepathy they know when to wear what on the same day- so u'll c guys walking pass u looking as gay as possible(but i have to admit some guys look so cute in pink!) anyways... i jz watched the video of the dance. well i cant say it was perfect but i kinda liked it. it was like a whole new thing to me... like all the practices had totally paid off. though i made one mistake... ok 2... but i did have fun dancing on stage. the crowed was swell. at 1st i tot it was the song that had the cheering crowd sound, but i was wrong. the crowd screamed so loud, i couldnt even hear the music! actually i did have alot of fun that nite. taking pix(with empty stomaches) after that was awesome too. well now that its all over n done, we can get back to our normal routine-- minus the dance pracs n banner paintings.i really enjoyed experiencing the production of the rally. God touched many hearts that nite. an ex miss inti (girl who wears thick make up and revealing clothings all the time) accepted Christ! God works n deals with ppl in un-sangka-able ways!
