leaving adelaide

I can’t believe this is happening. The day I’ve been waiting for since early this year has finally come. Now I’m sitting at gate 18, waiting to board QF81. This is so cool! No, I’m not using my laptop to see the reflection of the hot aussie guy behind me. I shall blog about anything that comes in mind. I’ll continue after lift off and maybe in Singapore, if my batt is still strong.

B4 going thru the immigration dept / custom, I saw so many ppl crying. Filled with emotion. I was jz… emo-less. Talking to james on the phone jz to finish up jin’s credit =p I was jz choking on the perfume scent while on the phone cuz I sprayed some from the Davidoff tester bottle. I’m not saying that leaving aus alone (no send-off commotion) is pathetic. And I’m glad I’m doing this alone. I get to catch the whole feeling of leaving this new home and going back to my real old home. Transitions. Usually attached with mixed feelings. Now I dunno how to feel. I jz wanna check out wat’s there to watch in the plane and wat’s on the menu. Ooo, the pilots jz walked pass. Not good looking…

Anyways, jz for records’ sake, my luggage is more than half of my weight. Overweight But they didn’t charge me. Jz 3kgs extra. And yes I gained weight. One kg per year. Heheh… go figure.

I think I shud b an asian and line up to board the plane now.

randomEST poem

Hahhaa, I still can’t stop laughing….

I’ve been packing my stuff on and off these days, while preparing for mandy’s bridal shower and getting ready to move out and go home. And I found this poem written a long time ago, nicely tucked away under my stack of stuff.

Lesson taught by a good friend of mine *ahem* esther*cough*: Never to throw a stack of paper away without looking through them. So yes, I found this… and it’s weird reading what I wrote long time ago, and still think it’s funny. I must say… it’s rather random.

I’ll tell u a story, not to get glory,
But to twiddle with tunes ad rhymes.
Almost every dress, I have must be in xs,
But maybe I’ll still grow in due time.

Every 5th hour, I sing in the shower,
And the cold weather makes it worst.
Withered old flowers, I throw in the plougher,
Just like how we rehearsed.

I’ve to finish my essay, makes me go crayzay,
And now my brain is stuck.
Just like toilet tersumbat, when flush terlalu lambat,
Makes me wanna scream … (no, not that)
Makes me wanna scream “tough luck!”

Back to work now, gotta finish it somehow,
I just gonna write my best.
I’ll make it funny, sometimes a little corny,
Well, that’s plain ol’ Jez.

Hahah… cant believe I wrote that…

continue~

And so, the story continues.

Thanks to chilli padi Dr. James Wey, and Dr. Kang Meng, we all had shelter for that nite. (7 guys in this room) (6 girls in this huge apartment unit *smirks*)

We went to Victoria Market the next morning. Got a little lost, but it was all good. We kept asking strangers till we got there. Met up with Debbie G and a Victorian OCFer (forgot his name..). Then we went to DFO- direct factory outlet near the Tullamarine airport. Pls pardon me of my spelling.. I’m jz typing however I’m saying it.

I told esther to prevent me from buying shoes. And guess what I left that place with… yes, this pair of sneakers! Its ori Puma shoes weyyy… and and…wait for it… it only costed me AUD 21!!! How can u not buy such a thing?! Plus, it’s glossy~ and shiny~

After we had our fair share of shopping, we went back to the city to walk around china town and we had to taste some Krispy Kreme to say that we’ve visited a place out of Adelaide. We met Aaron (AU), Lydea (flinders), and James (vic). Then we had a major sugar high crisis. Had to work it out by walking to Lygon street for dinner. Waited for about an hour for a seat. Met Arthur (vic), and little Sam (AU). The food was not bad at this thai restaurant except for James’ vegetarian green curry… smelled like the toilet bowl. Jane, Deb and I shivered everytime we ate/ smelt it. Cant believe James ate all of it.

We walked back high on oxygen, trying to keep our voices low, but it wasn’t working. All excited about convy the next day day day day *fades away*

How great was the road along the ocean?

And the journey began. 2 cars on Halifax street. 10 adventurous jokers with high hopes to know how great an ocean-road can b. not jz another road by the ocean. It’s the Great Ocean Road!!!

With not much plans we left Adelaide city in blue and white car (dun ask me what model, I dunno anything about cars). We had our terror navigator and road planner/which-way-to-turn-decider: ms. Mad. Uncle timboon behind the wheels of blue car (that’s not a fly on his face…). And lasagna banana tosai behind the wheels of the white car. Camera men: all of us… (we’re trained posers and syok-sendiri-ist).

1st day:

B4 hitting the Great Ocean Road, we had to endure the slow one-day torture of the Great Dry-Grass Road. We went pass the borderline between South Australia and Victoria. The flies gathered at that place, contemplating whether to leave Victoria or not. (seriously… I think vic has a lot more flies than SA) Then we went thru Horsham and stopped at Caverndish for petrol. Man… the whole day, all we saw were sheep, fields, hay, more sheep, more hay, more fields. It was quite depressing to a certain point. If it wasn’t for james and ken, I think I wud hv made boon crash the car to a tree and end the journey there. We sang all day. Seriously. As long as the wheels were spinning, our songs kept going. and we took pix of ourselves every hour.

We ended up in a place called Warrnambool (correct spelling). We had KFC for dinner then we went to Flagstaff hill for a shipwreck experience. AUD20.25 to watch cool lights flash up to a fountain that visualizes how a ship got wrecked on the coast near by. Quite cool. We were freezing our heads off. Then we went to a cabin place to spend the nite. One cabin for the girls and one for the guys. We were satisfied with the facilities. All hail hot shower! I had a fun time getting rid of a moth in the room =)

Day 2:

Hotcakes at McDs for $1.75 for breakkie. Awesomeness! That was a great way to start off our day to the road that we’ve been longing for. We went to the Bay of Islands, Grotto, London Bridge, Lorc Ard, George, 12 Apostles… we stopped at almost every stop we can find, just to take pix with almost the same scenery. And it was really worth it. The panoramic views were breath taking. The ocean, waves, gulfs, cliffs, sand, horizon, clouds, nature… walau…

We had lunch at Lavers Hill, then we headed to Apollo Bay, Lorne, and then to Erkskine falls. The road to the water fall was so misty it was eerie and cool at the same time. Its like driving into the unknown. Then we headed to Torquay but missed the shopping bit. Got there too late for the factory outlet stuff. Ish… so we headed to Geelong and had dinner at this Chinese restaurant called Mei Ling. We were all so tired d, and we had to gobble down our food in less than half an hours time cuz they were closing. It was 10 plus and we had no place to stay that nite. Hahaha… funny experience. In the end, we went straight to Melbourne where our OCF friends saved us from sleeping in the streets that nite. Slept at about 2am… physically dead.

For me to word out everything we did on this 'journey to the east' is quite impossible as there were plenty of instances where words just cant express. I grew closer with 9 other posers and learnt about their habits and behaviors that I would never hv guessed would be. i love them all!

I think the road wasnt thhhhaaaat great. It's the Maker of every creation that's Great.
