6 weird things about Jez

B4 I start, I’d wanna say that the person who started this tag thing is much much weirder than every one who got tagged.

I hope I’ll still be accepted by the society after I reveal my weirdness…

1: sneezing
I sneeze 3 times when I’m healthy, and once when I’m sick. This happens every time, and its quite accurate. No kidding… I know when I’m falling sick cuz I’d b sneezing once instead of trice. Ppl mite get tired of saying ‘bless u!’ 3 times, but hey, at least I’m healthy.

2: power naps
I tend to hv the ability to jz sleep whenever I want to. Though I wish I had the ability to keep myself awake whenever I want to. I used to get 10 mins break in classes, and I’d jz *snap* sleep for about 8 mins, then *snap* wake up then feel extra fresh, ready for the next half of class with 2 mins more to spare.

3: gross comments
Well, I’m not that good in MAKING gross comments, but I can tahan (stand) gross comments when I’m eating. Talking about poo and blood and puke wont really affect the temporal infatuation I have with my food. Maybe those comments weren’t gross enuf… if u get the chance to do so next time, try me

4: lyrics
I can remember lyrics of song even if I’ve jz listened to it for the 1st time. I’m not seriously good at it, but I think if I practice and make this a serious hobby, I think I can go quite far. This only applies to lyrics unfortunately. For a girl, I’m pretty bad in remembering dates of important stuff… I get someone else to remember for me (hehee… u know who u r *winks*) How I wish sejarah notes were put in songs…

5: coffee
[Pls do not use this to harm me.] I fall asleep when I drink coffee. Its not the backfired effect of caffeine… cuz it never happens when I drink tea, and tea has higher levels of caffeine (I think). I dunno why, but I can jz knock out after drinking latte even after I jz slept for a long time. Sad case… I’ve ntg to help me stay awake but constant dosage of fresh lame jokes that impresses my high level of lamerosity.

6: corks and tix
I have a thing for things... I dunno why, I dunno for what, and I dunno how come… but I jz like collecting rubbish. I mean not literally the disposables that’ll rot and stink. But stuff like corks, bus tickets (Adelaide ones), movie stubs, postcards, branded clothing tags, sewing kits from hotels etc. I know…. I’m weird… but hey! U asked for it =p

Thank goodness there’s only 6… or else this cud go on and on and people around me wud stay away from me…

I’m tagging: Joshua hum, Elizabeth lau, Sandra wong, Christina, Esther goh, and whoever who wants to be tagged.

See… told u… the one who created this tag thing is way weirder. Blame the founder.

Lecturers

How much u enjoy urself in class depends heavily on ur teachers /lecturers. I’ve come across a few very interesting ones in my life whom I’ll never forget.

Here r some lecturers (dunno y but so coinsidentally they’re all male lecturers), who have very fascinating postures when they r in class (mostly… they prefer the table than the chairs…

Now this is the proper way to sit. My Culture, place n meaning lecturer… who sometimes talk to himself.

My advertising lecturer on the table. (my friend said he looks ait like Tommy Lee)

And jz to make things a bit more obvious… here are two of horny’s lecturers (or are they the same person?) who sits on anything but chairs.

This is my favourite. Maths teacher from SAM Inti. (hope he doesn’t come across this site…

Thanks for the guidance, lecturers! Now we don’t hv to worry about our parents saying “ah girl, the chair has four legs u know…”

rip off

OSHC….
Overseas student’s health cover

Took me awhile to say OSHC fast and correct.

I think it’s a rip off! It’s not just the name that’s bothering me. They make us, international students, pay like mad! Then stay quiet for the whole year and then WHAM!!! charge us again the next year.

We have to pay so darn much and not get anything back from it. I think it’ll only be worth it if I fall sick now or get myself a minor surgery done, so I can go get back my $300 health cover, or else it’ll b put to waste…. again!

I didn’t use any of it last year and I think it was more than RM700!!! Killer la… come, someone, anyone!!! Break my leg and send me to the hospital.

The thing about Adelaide’s hospital (note: I think there’s only one…), they only tend to u if ur case is a matter of life and death. U’re already hurting our wallets so badly now u wanna play with our emotions and our lives!?! Too much la.

But then again… the service is good (so I heard). Very pro~

Well, bottom line is I’m broke, insured and painfully (in money sense) alive.

Jez likes new colours

I don’t know why I’ve become such a fanatic for the colour black and red…. Hence my new blog skin=)
It jz happened lately without me realizing it. Sometimes you just cant give reasons for your likes or dislikes, so there you go… JEZ is black and red crazy!

I now own a black and red watch, water bottle from FOS, bass guitar, mobile phone, and a blog! Muahahaha!!! *thunder* & *red lightning against the black sky* hahah

each passing day

I miss laptop-movie Sundays and long rides home from subang to cheras.

The picture of the fan and ceiling still vivid in my thoughts, with the smell of the covers and the room that makes me feel at home.

How I wish those movies will never end though they weren’t exactly the best shows to watch.

What can I say when everything in my mind is being carefully read by his?

Where else would I wanna be when I’m so securely tucked in the arms of the one who loves me and at the same time being smiled upon from above by the one who made me?

Who else would I want to spend those lovely days if it wasn’t with the one I love….

When would those laptop-movie Sundays and rides home to cheras be my weekly event once again?

But…. Why should I ask when I know that each passing day is a day closer to the time we can see each other again =)
Love ya, Timothy~

back in OZ

Leaving Msia wasn’t hard. I had the frustration of packing, the anxiety of starting a new sem in uni, and the excitement of aussie life once again to divert me from the misery of leaving my best friends.
My bass came with me, and had the privilege to sit 1st class!!!! Not me… jz the bass…
Anyhoot… I watched a few in-flight shows, sat next to a student going to Hobart (in the puny MAS plane) and a French lady from spore to ade in Qantas. How I wish I was a tad bit richer, then I’ll b able to sit my a*s on that huge 1st class seat that inclines backwards without kacau-ing the person seated behind u. so cool….

Well, I reached good-old Adelaide early in the morning, n I crashed rite into bed once I called home and tim. I didn’t sleep on the plane…. I blame the excessive entertainment. So I slept for 9 hours… there went my Friday.
So Saturday was the day I conquered Rundle Mall!!!! I met up with Vivian who jz got back from HK. Went to paradise interchange. Those were the days when I’d be waiting for the bus in winter and I needed to pee… badly…. It shall never happen again! I’ll pee b4 I take the bus!
Well, its bye bye sg. Wang, 1U, sunway… and hello Rundle Mall! We had kids meals in Hugnry Jack’s. Vivian bought shoes…. I bought a cool wallet (50% off!!!) and most importantly… I got meself… an SE K610i- midnight red!!!! Wah, I’m so glad I got this phone. Black n red… goes well with my bass =p
That nite… I unpacked.

Mandy and I need more space for our clothes…. Seriously…
On Sunday, I went to dai yee’s church and had Vietnam lunch. Check out this filter-coffee-thingy. U wait till all the coffee drips from the metal top then u pour it in the iced glass. Not bad… [durians in australia!!!]
After that we had a new friend with us. Mr. ducky. And he shall be our dinner tonite! Nyahaha…. I cant help it… I had to hold it all the way back and it was smiling at me… so I take pix la.

We also went to some show houses… hehe… uncle Jason wants to build a bigger house. And I’ve totally no objections with that. The street gave me the Desperate Housewife feel… its all so fake.

Later in the evening… GOLF! Woot~ they picked up this new game so I follow also la. That’s puttingAnd yes Tim, I’ll burn the shirt….
That’s my sifu with a nice swing
Guru dai yee and guru Jeremy
that nite... Mr Ducky became dinner.
then we made that thingy with char xiu fillings
then it was more unpacking for me.
back in aussie... its good to be back =)

the day / night before

I’m so thankful that I get to spend Chinese new year’s eve with my big family, mom’s and dad’s side. Such gatherings are one of the best times during CNY, other than the ang angs… no wonder it’s still being passed down from generation to generation. Everyone will cease their normal daily/ weekly routines and jz make this reunion meal a success by helping in cooking, by fixing up the table or by eating.
so anywayz, this was lunch in popo's hse. though watching tv is not in the tradition... we jz cant help it. then we went to a new unit nearby.
mandy's missing....
yeap... we took more pix...
i like this old-ish effect.
miss those days when we wud play and laugh all day. not sure wat we played though....
bah! too many pix!!! i'll upload it in multiply. i know some ppl like pictures more than words =)
so here u go > my multiply link to more reunion pix

Malaysia-only

Diversity is something we, Malaysians are quite bangga of. And not forgetting the authenticity, and a little bit of kiasu-ism from our dear neighbour, the land where the lion has a tail and it spits.

Coming back for my holidays has been a definite joy ride. It went from “I can’t wait!” to “I’m finally home!” to “walau!!! Malaysia rox wey~” (sometimes in a very sarcastic tone, heehee)

There are a few things which I noticed lately… I think it was happening all along just that it just become very surreal to me. Ok, ladies and gentlemen… these are the things u’ll get, only in Malaysia~

~= middle aged Indian men having Chinese songs as their ringtones

~= a short cut road called “Jalan Jujur” [road of honesty]

~= the world’s smallest round about
[friend: dude.. I’ll show u the world’s smallest round about
me: ok! *peers out the car window*
friend: *pauses* oh wait… I think a car jz went over it
me: elh?!
Friend: ok! Now! There it is! *points at a small round bump on the road*]

~= double/ triple parking in front of JPJ office (the place where u pay ur road fines and taxes)

~= expensive cars parked at the illegal “corner” space in a departmental stall carpark where it can be easily scratched if some new drivers drive pass their cars in that extremely narrow lane…. Smartness… if they were that rich… they could afford the valet service, or at least have the decency to park in a proper boxed area.

~= conversations that go like this :
“eh, that day hor I was at XXX lrt station and I saw this feller dah fei gei …”
“wah… not pai she 1 meh?”

~= dry bak kut teh (BKT), that comes in more flavours!!! There’s chick kut teh, fish kut teh, mutton kut teh, beef kut teh, vege kut teh…. I prefer calling it bak kut zhap instead …(BKZ)

~= accidents happening cuz of a bridge that was built too low… where busses and trucks keep ramming into it

~= no kissing in the park. Or u’ll get fined.
So… now we gotta pay to kiss? Haihz… y prevent such a lovely activity when there’s so little love left in the world?

~= finally, people reading other people’s blog without leaving comments!!! Ahaha, nola… actually I jz found out that there ARE readers for this blog (jz when I was about to give up and not blog to myself again). Okla, and this point does not fit in this Malaysia-only category =p I jz wanna say hi to all my non-commenting friends, heehee…

Valentine of mine

Almost every year, valentine’s day meant “get together with other singles to avoid the fact that we’re sad and miserable on this day, so we shall go force our way to the cinema so we can take up space so couples cant watch movies” nyahaha!

However, this year I had to reject my ‘kaki’s arrangements and make myself available for one special person =)

So this year, valentine’s day was very authentic. So original. So spontaneous. So sporty. So romantic. So over-sized. So local. So relaxing. So ticklish. So blessed. So full. So expensive. So tiring. So understanding. So funny. So …us.

Happy valentine’s day!!!!

guess my age = lie to me

I’m sure u’ve at least once in ur life played the “come, guess my age” game. I used to like it but now its getting quite disturbing… when I was 17, ppl thought I was in primary 6.
Aint that cool? But now.. its wrong! Jz wrong!!!

Didn’t ur parents teach u to guess ages by saying at least 3 years younger than wat u figured that person would b?! its not lying… its making ppl happy. If they’re happy, u’re happy. Win-win situation.

However, things aren’t going the way I thought it’s always been going now a days. Yes, I’ve changed a little. Matured a little. But I’m still the loud-laughing, lame-thinking, cute little Jezamine! Cant ppl jz have the decency to guess that I’m in form 5 or at least ask where I’m studying, and not where I’m working…. *swt*

I must say, I’m quite good at age guessing. I always end up either right on the dot or somewhere near the person’s age. However, there r some extreme cases where they jz look like they are ageless. And some extreme cases where they’re not living up to their age. I guess I fall in the extreme category… jz that now I’m in the other end of the extreme zone where I used to be (not so long ago).

I liked this age guessing game when I’m in aus. Heehee… the 16 year olds can compete with my mom if I stand next to them. But now that I’m back… it’s a whole new story. Especially now that I’ve had the chance to meet with so many new ppl from CHC. And especially when tim stands next to me… ppl will think I’m his older sister… good guessing guys... *pouts*

So kids… when ppl ask u to guess their age, u should:
1…. Suddenly look distracted, pull out ur hp and say “oh excuse me, important call”, then turn away with the fake call and pray that the topic will be changed when u get back.

Or

2…. Say something like “wah, of course u look like u’re ## years old la!” [formula: guessed age – 4 = ##]

Or

3…. Run for your life

diamlah diri

Ajar ku berdiam
Sebab kasih Mu teramat dalam
Pisahkan ku daripada dunia bahaya
Peluklah ku dekat padaMu selamanya

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Back and forth I’ve been tossed;
In the wave of demands, I was lost.
Knocked unconscious, tattered and bruised,
By awful temptations, shrewdly seduced.

My hands I reached out, high and above,
To be at least brushed by with love.
But distracted, as usual, by the furious wave,
Then my weak soul unwillingly caved.

Yet Your love was beyond what the naked eye can see,
How could this actually be?
You’re not beyond my reach, nor beyond my cries,
Your grace upon me never dies.

Then where are You when I’m pushed around?
Where can I find Your promised solid ground?
Incline your ear to my cry,
On green pastures I yearn to lie.

And in the midst of my frantic struggle,
Choking in doubts I try hard to wrestle,
You beckoned your face close to mine,
And whispered “everything is gonna be fine”

…“be still and know that my love for you is beyond
Everything that you can grasp upon”
…“be quiet and relax a bit,
Hold on to My Words, cling on to it”

I’m so grateful You came and taught me to shut up,
Or I could have been struggling till I give up.
Now I shall be still, and be quiet for awhile,
As You take me in Your hands to conquer another mile.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Psalm 84
1: How lovely is Your tabernacle
O Lord of hosts!
2: My soul longs, yes, even faints
For the courts of the Lord;
My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

11: For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
The Lord will give grace and glory ;
No good thing will He withhold
From those who walk uprightly.

nostalgic epic

“Woah! I feel like a full-on back packer going on an adventurous journey~” said shua when I met him at the Seputeh KTM station.
“So what do u have in ur back pack?” I asked.
*smirks*
“Lots of DVDs!” was the answer.

Shua and I embarked on this journey to Nilai (aka Niali) jz for the sake of not sitting at home to count down to the days we’re gonna leave msia… this one-night-mission has been bugging us for a long time and we just need to get this over and done with. Meeting my friends is my number one mission for coming home. So I know that some suckers r still stuck in inti nilai (hahah jkjk) so I thought of doing them some good… to go n kacau them from their daily lives in college, nyahaha…

1st challenge we had was to get into the KTM. I was sweating like mad that evening and the freaking KTM had to b soooo packed… shua and I tak dapat sqeeze in. so we had to wait for another one!!! Arrrgghhhh, I hate KTM… but then again… I must not complain cuz KTM is the only route I can take to nilai and to *ahem* subang. I went to subang in the morning to watch Australian open with tim *ahem again!* hahha, well, Australian open wasn’t that bad after all. “It’s a beautiful game” claims tim. =) I had fun hanging out with the cutest guy of all, literally.

Shua n I talked and laughed non stop all the way to nilai. Laughed more on the bus, praying that we got on the right bus. We folded things that fly with our bus ticket. Guess which one I folded… nyeheh…

Finally we reached inti and had dinner with horny and weeki. Shua’s water bottle sort of… leaked. So his DVDs were wet. He had to lay it out to dry it… and we looked like ppl who were selling DVDs, hahah… sumore the 4 of us were high ranked prefects back then [horny- ketua pengawas, weeki- penolong ketua pengawas, shua- the other penolong ketua pengawas, me- bendahari and ketua disiplin] bangga betul… SMKTD produced awesome DVD sellers! Woot~

The nostalgic wave hit me hard when we were walking back to block E from the restaurants. The basketball courts, the night street, college students in worn tshirts and short pants, the meddlesome guards from every block… I used to walk along this street everyday. The street parties, the morning jogs (…errr, well, it was jz ONCE… heehee) the water fights… I laughed and I cried on this street. Cant imagine so many things can happen within a year in college.

I met up with hin loong, jonathan, yew keong, clara, carl, charles, Johnny, Justin, justina, david, Vincent, Vidz, Jhesseny, the Ramli burger man, ms sucy (my law lecturer), and Ms Jun (my English lecturer…who hugged me). Oh man… so miss Frisbee games, ICF sessions, the looooong mamak table moments, swimming, eating lizzie’s leftovers, being late for class just because of some freaking mind game from DC++.

Anyways, we freeloaders stayed at block E all night, watching this gay show called Hard Gay (say say sayyyyy! Come get some!) and we failed on watching the DVDs shua brought. Walk the Line didn’t work for us. We even tried to play sudoku level 10!!! But the only thing that kept us awake was Hard Gay. I think horny came down to hand us his pillows… hahah, I fell asleep on the bench.

Next morning we had breakfast at the cafeteria, and the wan ton noodle man remembers me!!! Hahah, so chun… then we walked around trying to bump into ppl I know. Poor shua had to follow me around. We even went into the new CC in inti.

Soon, I had to break the whole nostalgia that was killing me, so we left inti. We were troubling horny since the start, hahah, he even had to send us off… sorry dude…

Then we stopped by at kajang for the thing that everyone makes a big fuss about—kajang satay!!!! Esther came to pick us up from the station and took us to the satay stall which she jz went to earlier with another friend…. I’m so excited esther is going to Adelaide!!!! Yay!! I’ll hv another friend in OZ land!
this girl has a 12mp camera!!!! well... correction. she's the daughter of the owner of the 12 mp camera!!!

the battle of the cameras

shua tried------------------then i tried-----------------then esther tried------------
all tak jadi, so we gave up and asked the satay man to take for us.

Well, that was two full days for me =) I’m so glad I got to accomplish so many things in less than 48 hours.
