Something's missing.

It’s not helping when everyone around you are off to work and u’re left at home, with the internet and cover letter templates with job search websites.

Once bitten twice shy. I guess I’m now more fearful of the jobless situation than before because I’ve been bitten by it last year. But what else can I do but keep fighting this battle with my eyes wide open?

Why do I love the media industry? It’s so fierce, cold and cruel. I don’t know how to produce a good resume, when I feel that I’m not good enough for companies out there. I don’t think I have skills to offer. But since I’ve come this far, I might as well type out the naked truth of my noobness and pride myself of my skin’s thickness.

I’m really grateful for all those around me who are helping me through this. In spirit and in asking high and low for vacancies. I just hope that this time, it’ll be less painful.

How do I see God in the midst of desperation? How do I sincerely pray for providence when the faith fuel is running low? How do I bow before Him empty, with no emotion, no feelings, no thoughts? Something is missing. Something really important is missing.

First love.

dusty sweeps

Lessons learnt while packing my room of 22 years:

Never keep rubbish.
Gosh I threw out so many bags of stuff. Things I had no idea why I kept them for.

Never use Jusco recyclable plastic bags to store things.
It breaks into flakes when u touch it after leaving it there for a year. Took me so long to clean up the flakes of plastic flying around my already messed up room.

Always use new stuff and never keep it for later.
I used to keep my new stuff so I can use them for bigger occasions, and then I’ll forget I actually had them. So it never got used and now they’re rusted or broken or expired or eaten by time. And it gets thrown away. Wasted.

Always be ready to face the past.
I came across my diaries that I owned when I was in form 3, 4 and 5. They never lasted till May. It was entertaining to read it again but at the same time, extremely humiliating as well. Thank goodness they are kept deep in my pile of junk. I had so much fun laughing at my own childish thoughts and folly. I met the 16-year-old Jezamine who thinks that the world would end because the guy she likes is avoiding her. Or wished the ground would eat her up when she wasn’t allowed to go to the most happening party of the year.

Have fun.

hostile hospital

The muffled female voice kept going on and on after the bell “nombor tiga tujuh lima lapan… bilik empat”. It’s amazing how the machine is not annoyed at her own repeated voice.

I was at the HUKM’s eye clinic with my granddad one morning, waiting for his pre-op tests to be done. My poor datuk had to wait from 7am till 2pm, shuffling up and down the wards, doing checkups after checkups. He even had to fast from 12 midnight the night before so his blood can be tested clean.

In the waiting room filled with emotionless people, I can’t help but feel frustrated at how the everything was functioning on an extremely shabby system. Looking at the faces of everyone around the room, I also felt numb, and didn’t want to even think about complaining or expressing my frustration. Just let me get this over and done with and let me go home.

So I stood next to my granddad who was holding tight to his crumpled docket with his number printed on it. His eyes never left the number board with the blinking red numbers with arrows on them. The whole time he kept saying I should go do what I have to do, meet my friends, go out and see stuff… I guess he, too, felt bad I was there. I didn’t regret accompanying him all morning. I just feel bad I can’t do anything to make things better.

The younger ones were slouching on the metal waiting-chairs, keeping their eyes shut, pretending to sleep. I’d dare say that it’s to avoid witnessing the older folks struggling to stand with their canes, which they then had to avail their seats for them. The man behind the counter snapped back at me when I asked him where I can get a stamp for a proof of payment. “pergi klinik sebelah! Tak de orang di sini untuk chop bagi u!” (go to the other clinic, the person who stamps it is not here)
Ok fine! Don’t have to give me that attitude. I was tempted to roll my eyes right back at him and walk away showing him the “whatever” sign. But I didn’t. There’re enough grumpy people in the world already, I shouldn’t contribute to the stats. So I smiled at him and went to klinik sebelah—only to find the ‘stamper’ is out for morning tea. Great.

Maybe if I would have to see so many different kinds of patients everyday with different eye conditions, I might get grumpy too. Maybe it’s the uncontrollable crowd that spoils the whole system. Maybe the air conditioning wasn’t at optimum temperature. Maybe they’re hinting we should go to private hospitals and pay way more than this lousy service to hoi polloi of the normal class. Maybe I should just stop being so judgmental and be grateful that my granddad’s vision is ok now.

pol-ethics

I’m not a big fan of politics. Especially really messed-up ones. If you start a conversation with me about the government, or any related system, I’d most probably zone out to think about my upcoming meal, or would listen to what’s being discussed so that I can use it for my next unfortunate encounter with a political conversation.

Now, that used to be my indifferent attitude towards something I should pay more attention to. These days being back here in a land that’s bound by its muffled ways, I’ve begun to have this (sad but true) hatred towards the cruel world of politics in Malaysia. Not because it has suddenly harmed me in any way. It’s always been there, the problems, the bad guys, and the complaining citizens. But I dislike the idea of it lately because it is making my best friend cry. I don’t like that. Not at all.

I wish I could find a gang and beat up the situation out of its snare. I would stare deep into the beat-up condition, stick my tongue out, and warn it to stay away from my friend and stop bullying people who have such a big heart for the betterment of the future. Go away and stop all this nonsense will ya?!!!!

I need...

I need to run a spot check over my fears and splash it with a pail of cold water.
I need to carbon copy my memories of Adelaide and zip lock it in my heart.
I need to send my brain to detention and make it write out "one thought at a time" for 1000 times on the chalkboard.
I need to "always anticipate abundance", says the $900 seminar man.
I need to stick a cork up the tear pipe and keep the waterworks from happening, and only release it when the thick fog of reality starts to infiltrate my moment.
I need to sleep.

revamp

“Jez, u’ve not been updating ur blog” says my friends conveniently.
“Oh yea… I have a blog site! How could I forget…” says my brain nonchalantly.

So here I am, apologizing for the silence. Also apologizing not for the amazingly busy and eventful few months I had previously, but for the obligation to let some of my thoughts out into cyber space and possibly avoiding the above conversation in real life.

With not many days left in Adelaide, I’ve been savoring every last bit of everything of every moment. Just yesterday, while driving from Life FM back to Su Ling’s place (45mins drive), the orange engine light came on at the 40th min. I thought I could make it back to the house to check the problem, but at the 44th min, the car decided to die on me, while I was about to turn into Ashbrook Avenue. So at the crazily busy junction, I popped my hazard lights on, praying hard that cars coming from both directions will not smash me and UZY into pieces.

I called Su Ling for help. Thank God she was at home. A lady crossed the inhumane road to offer help. She was so cool. She looks a bit like Corinne Bailey Rae hidden behind huge shades. Another lady stopped her car and came to help as well. I savored the scenario of 3 girls (2 of them are totally strangers) pushed a car (I steered) pass two lanes at rush hour, up a small slope, into the lane I was supposed to turn into.

As they were pushing, I peeked at the rear end mirror and saw 3 girls laughing and bopping up and down as they pushed the dead car. I can’t help but smile and thank God for kind road users who saved me from the ferocious traffic.

There’s so much more to treasure and smile upon. But I think for now… I need to turn off my computer. It’s gonna die on me soon, too!

Oh by the way… I do not know what’s going on with the borders of my blog page…. Need revamp!

The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan

A few weeks ago, I was surfing the net with Yih Hon to google Jodi Foster (she was the voice for Maggie in The Simpsons, and he didn't know who she was or what shows she acted in, so the best way to show it to him was through our trusty imdb).

So after a few "oh... I know who she is already" moments by him, something on her imdb profile page caught my eye.

"The Amazing Chan and The Chan Clan"

I laughed my socks off!

Apparently, Jodi Foster was the voice of Anne Chan, in this cartoon series which was created in the early 70s.

"Charlie Chan investigates mysteries with "help" from his large family. A Saturday morning cartoon show for kids, this features Charlie Chan and his multitudinous progeny as they solve crimes with the help of a transforming van." (imdb.com)

Yih Hon kept saying that it's a ScoobyDoo rip off, and he's jealous that there's a cartoon series created after my family name.

*strong whispers* The Amazing Chan and The Chan Clan...

2D animation never seemed so fascinating since I saw how Chinese would always have pointy eyes and speak by pronouncing one-word-at-a-time as they solved crimes as a family. This is so cool. Gonna tell the Chan Clan back home. Miss them heaps.

Here's the complete series in Youtube. You have to watch this man...

FYI, I DIY-ed

Now boys and girls, this is how u save money and still be able to own a new pair of funky working shoes.

My new job requires me to have black shoes on, and my only durable black pair is my Crocs Prima, but it’s still not comfy enough for me to last the day standing and walking in it. So I’ve decided to get a new pair that I could avoid going home with swelled up feet and dislocated toes. However, when I went to Kmart with Huey Chi, the only ‘comfy’ black canvas shoes that we found (in the kids department…) was 25bux and it wasn’t even nice.

I wouldn’t wanna spend 25bux on something ugly and will be roughly used to step on stuff that’s fallen off sandwiches. So… we drove around the corner to a hardware store, and I bought a can of spray paint for $4.50. It was on specials. FYI, one has to be over 18 to buy spray paint. (No wonder they’ve such cool graffiti around… they’re not done by kids)

Yesterday evening, I took my old pair of Adidas, which has served me well for 4 years, out to my backyard with a wide grin, shaking the can vigorously (as stated in the instructions).

It took me awhile to get the cap opened as my heart pumped its way in excitement. I protected the brick-tiled floor with my old assignment sheets, laid the shoe on them and stuffed more ex-assignments inside to protect the inner fabric.

Once the spraying started, I took off and flew like a pro. A spray paint pro. Moving my way along the hinges, curves and grids. My white Adidas with pink stripes turned black and shinny within minutes! Ho ho ho, I had so much fun!

>

And for the shoelace, I didn’t think that spray painting it would work cuz it may crack when dried. Then a brilliant idea fell from the sky. I shall dye it with the Chinese calligraphy ink which Tim gave me in my 2nd year that was supposed to be used in Easter Camp but the plans changed and it has been sitting in my cupboard (and followed me all the way from my 1st home to now my 3rd) since! Man, I’m a genius! See, it’s good to keep junk. But then again, this is not junk. It’s something from Tim! ... just... totally useless. Not until now. Muahahah…

>

There, my brand new shinny black shoes which I like a lot! And its comfy too! I could work all day in those funky new shoes. I’m so proud of myself.

Not a weak week

I got a second job which starts at 7-freakin’-am for 4 days a week.

I had to fill in 2 extra days for my current job and my feet hurt.

The station had a paid paneling job offered which involved training times at the oddest hours.

I embarrassed myself by crying in front of a crowd but I got to say a prayer for my dearest friend.

I had to wait on the phone super long to get to a real-life person talking to me about driver’s license in WA, who was very helpful.

A friend from Perth is visiting Adelaide for a few days and Tim only told me yesterday while I was half asleep, so can’t really meet up.

I was asked to help out on stuff at OCF but I’ll be very late for it, so I had to say no.

I’ve no time to buy black shoes but I’ve a brilliant idea which involves my old pair of shoes and a can of spray paint. Tell u more about it next time.

For now, my tornado-stricken room needs some attention.

focus Jez!!!

About the rubbing-of-vicks-on soles-of-feet-b4-sleeping idea from mom. Amazingly… it worked! I’m not coughing like an off-wired machinegun now! U can say it might be psychological or it’s coincidental, but hey… I’m not complaining. I can sing now!!! Yee harrrr~

Yee Har sounds like a Chinese name. If there’s another cousin in my family, she might be called that. It only can be a ‘she’ cuz my girl cousins from my dad’s side has a ‘yee’ or a ‘ee’ in their Chinese names.

Chan Yee Har. Hahha, that’ll be awfully sad for the kid, and awfully entertaining for the rest of us.

I met a very entertaining little girl last night. Esther’s baby sis, Elise. She told me about the animals she saw that day.
E: “You know… I saw this horse! And it was very very very still!!”
J: “Oh, maybe it was sleeping?”
E: “No… because it was a statue…”
J: “…”

Back to the vick’s theory, I still can’t grasp the logic behind it. Someone said it’s to remove the ‘wind’. I only know of 2 ways to do that… u fart or u burp. But what has coughing gotta do with releasing of wind?

Speaking of which… I was glancing through my old blog posts to see how I’ve changed *cough* not at all*cough* … and I mentioned that you need to fart consistently for 6 years and 9 months to produce enough gas to create the energy of an atomic bomb (I got it from an email from Kim Yang and I posted it at 8.31pm, Friday, January 5, 2007.)

If you have a blog, go read through ur old posts. You’ll never realize how strange and peculiar you were before, and how you still are unusually quaint.

Just like… now… I am aware that I changed so many topics already from one vick’s story.

And what was I doing again? Oh yes, folding my washed laundry.

*cough* ahem * cough*

There is a time to speak and a time to shut up. There is a time to keep pushing on and a time to rest. There is a time to blog and a time to realize that u’ve not been blogging for way too long that u no longer got the groove anymore.

Yes it has been awhile and I apologize to my congested pool of thoughts that are bursting to express themselves. I’ve been wanting to write about so many things but my lazy side victoriously conquered the flesh and made me succumb to procrastination.

Uncountable bloggable things have happened since the last time I blogged, and it’ll be impossible to do a recount. Hence, I shall talk about the most recent.

Dry cough.

Though I had 2 sleepless nights caused by sudden coughing frenzy, my weird dreams remained. This time, it’s not the artsy kind of weird. It’s the déjà vu kinda weird. I’ll think that I’m awfully forgetful, but in actual fact, I’ve already done it … in my dreams! It’s not an excuse. But it’s a sympathetic explanation of me not doing things that I’m supposed to, cuz my brain tells me that I did it already (but it only happened in my dreamsss). Gosh… I’m such a complicated being.

Since my unremitting cough, I could feel that my abs are toning up…. Hmmm, maybe this is a good way to shape up =p Who needs to pay for monthly gym fees if you could just catch yourself a cough bug and start working out every where you go! Woohooo~

It’s not a good idea to hold your pee and keep coughing at the same time. Enough said.

The ironically guilty yet fun part of having a bad cough is when I unintentionally passed the vicious germs to someone else. Gives me the secretive feeling that I’m not alone in this… =p even for the one who got my germs through the phone, hahaha… so what if u’re in another state? Cant run too far from me! Muahahah… though the germs were of another sort… but still! Muahahahh!

I need phlegm. Hurts to cough nothing out, and it makes my voice even huskier than the usual. Oh well, there’s also a time to be sexily husky I guess.

Mom told me the weirdest remedy for dry cough: rub some vicks vapour rub thingy on the soles of my feet and wear socks to sleep. Have not tried it out yet… got no vicks. She tried it on dad and apparently it worked. Right mom?

The amount of honey and lemon drinks that I’ve had in my past 22 years of my life cannot be compared to the amount I had this week. Oh honey *ba ba ba ba ba baa* oh lemon lemon *ba ba ba ba ba baa*

There’s a time to fall sick, and a time to get well. Time to get well now.

A Fishy Story

As the morning ray broke the darkness from the horizon, Simon Peter dragged his discouragement together with his empty boat towards the uninviting shore. Thomas, Nathanael, and the other two fishermen followed behind, also unable to hide the tired droop across their faces and shoulders.

All night they spent out in the sea, and they caught nothing. Not even an old sandal or tattered robe. “What am I going to eat today?” were the only weak thoughts floating with the fishy breeze. Just before Simon Peter got past the foamy waves, he spotted a vague figure, standing motionlessly by the water’s edge.

“Young men, haven’t you caught anything?” came the voice from that figure.

“Nope” they replied, thinking that he was a random guy who likes to watch the sunrise on that devastating beach.

“Throw your net out on the right side of the boat, and you will catch some.” Said the man, as a matter-of-factly.

‘Plonk’ went the nets on the right side of the boat—no questions asked.

The sound of slippery smacks drew louder as they began to haul the net filled with big fish back on the boat. It was almost impossible to do the usual net-fishing routine because the amount of fish in the net was way more than expected. Sea water splashed up their surprised faces, as their hands scurried around to gather every fish that were visible as they gawked in astonishment.

When they realized that the figure with the miraculous instruction was Jesus, Peter jumped off the boat and ran towards Jesus as fast as his legs could push against the waist-high waters.

The story didn’t just end there. There also was a charcoal fire with fish on it, and bread by the side—all set out nicely for them. Jesus told them to bring some fish that they caught. “Come and eat” He said, and He served the tired yet amazed fishermen who knew for sure that He is God.

- The scene that played in my head as I read John 21:1-14 -

** ** **

This narrative account stood out to me very avidly as I reflected how things have been for me lately.

I went out to fish, did all I could to hunt for a job. Didn’t even care if it was fulltime or casual work. I went out to sea, and tried all night long. Yet, nothing came back with me. Not even an old boot.

Just as I was about to give up and hang up my nets to dry, a voice tells me to try the right side of the boat. Now this is when I (unlike the disciples) questioned. Why the right side? It’s not deep sea anyway… there’s no point trying now, right? I did this all night, out in the sea! I guess it’s too late now… it’s already mid year!

So foolish of me to question.

The Voice assures me that He has great plans for me. Then why should I even doubt or to have uncertainty of my future?

The fishermen were so astonished with what Jesus did, they even made the effort to count the catch. ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY THREE! I can’t wait till the 153 job offers start pouring down on me like slippery big fish.

Furthermore, He also prepares the fire, bread and more fish for breakfast! Gahhh! You mean there’s more? Man… I can’t wait to witness the great stuff He has planned for me.

He’s done it before, He brought me through the transitional times in my life, and this one has no exception. It may seem longer, but I know that there’s a great harvest for me to reap. He did something similar in Luke 5:1-11, as He got His disciples to fish for the people who were there to listen to Him. I’m trusting that there’re great opportunities just around the corner. And I thank God in advance for that!

celery overload

I think it’s a bad idea to have a weighing machine in your bathroom. Especially if it’s a digital one.

I’ve been weighing myself every singing time I walk into my bathroom, just to see if I’m still having mass. I find it so amazing how my body reacts to my food intake. I can be 1 full kg heavier after a sumptuous meal. And be 2.1kg different from yesterday’s weight. It’s so odd!!!

And remember how my friends gave me a bunch of celery? Well, what else can I do with it but to eat all of them right? So I’ve been having them healthy sticks in almost every lunch and dinner. I’ve also learnt that stir frying the leafy part does not make it taste better.

Since that celery frenzy, the digital number on the scale has been scaring me more and more every time I walk into the bathroom. I know I consistently gain 1kg per year since I came to Australia, so the measurements should stick to that number, or at least just a few decimal points around that figure, for the whole year. But this time…. It went all the way back to my weight in my 1st year here. Crap!! So much for trying to gain weight so I can donate blood.

I got a little worried, so I consulted Mr. Google (don’t ask me why I gave Google a gender). I found out that celery has negative calories. Which means… (nutritionist, I might be wrong here, but I’d like to think of it this way) that the amount of energy used to digest and poop celery is more than what it can give u. so more fat will be burnt after eating celery, hence my weight loss.

Thank goodness I finished that bunch of celery, and I now can move on with my plans to gain weight. I reckon I’ll steer clear from celery for awhile now. Yet, I still think I should pay less attention to the white digital machine on the tiled bathroom floor.

surprise surprise (pt II)

As promised, surprise part 2 shall be disclosed.

After EXCO meeting, Wei Jin said very sternly: “take off ur spex”. Then Huey Chi tied my hands up and they blind folded me with little effort (I was too tired to fight back as I still had some jetlag from the flight I had that morning from Malaysia).

Then all I heard was the others saying their good-byes, as Jin and HC took me into UZY. The whole journey to my “death-place”, they threatened to throw me into an aviary cuz they know I won’t mind being trashed with yucky stuff which defeats the sabo purpose. I prayed hard that this sabo plan has nothing to do with birds or the actual idea of having my friends trying to help me overcome my fear for birds.

I stumbled out of the car still tied up, and stepped into a place with a familiar scent.

ASHOK MACHO.

“Esther Goh!!!” was all I can scream, and “I’m sorry... I won’t sabo u again, wei jin.... pls no birds... ahhh!”

The corridor suddenly felt like it was tripled in length when I was led to the kitchen. “Surprise!” someone ripped the blindfold off me and another dropped a huge bouquet of celery into my hands which were still bound together. Seriously, that bunch of vegetable was as heavy as a baby!

In a semi circle before me, were beautiful and handsome people, all dressed up in red and black. Their smiles wiped out my defences and made me forget about birds instantly. I soon got to see exactly who was there when they gave me back my spectacles. Esther, Suling, Madeline, Daniel, James, Ming, Erwin, Debra, Norman, Wei Jin and Huey Chi. I was beaming, with remnants of shock and amazement of how they’ve planed this while I was away.

After that, I was pushed into Esther’s room to change. There was a bag filled with my stuff! Saw my black dress, red cardigan, and even my bra was the black and red one.... swt...

Then they hurried me to my seat, gave me a head gear (tiara), and 1st course was served. There were little name plates on each seat, and the whole table was decorated with black and red cutlery. Entre was soup with random stuff in it (which tasted not-bad), celery sticks with peanut butter, and raspberry tart with ‘tim jeong’. Yes... random was the theme, and they ate it with no complaints! Hahaha, it was so amuzing...

Main course: indomee with James’ kung pow chicken, 2 scoops of mash potatoes with chips sticking out of it.

Side dish: chow dou foo!!!! (smelly tofu). Hahaha!!! This was the bomb! Where did they get chow dou foo, u mite ask. Well, they got it inside their imaginations! All of them reacted like it was so smelly that they feel like puking when they took out normal tofu on sticks. They also looked at me as if I was the only weird one who can eat it, let alone stand the smell. They said they’d eat it for my sake. How nice~

Dessert: chocolate cake/pudding with ladybird chocolate on top. Yumm~
All these meals meant something to me, and they made me feel so proud to be known like this. Then we played “Scenes from a hat”, all acted by me... ish... and my fav game “Balderdash”. Carol came later, and Erwin made me a durian strawberry vanilla butter cake! It was sooo nice. Tim also got to contribute ideas and chose songs which meant something to me. You guys rock!!!!!!!!

I really thank God for such awesome friends. I just can’t thank them enough for doing so much for me, and making me feel so special and loved. I don’t mind growing old if I get this every year, heheh... thank you all!

Dan and mad left early... I need to find a way to photoshop their faces in.

Surprise Surprise (pt1)

Remember when I fell super sick last year, that I became one with my couch, and had to push thru convy fundraising dinner as MC with a major headache and fever? Wooooh! That was an experience...

So around that time... I became super homesick and wanted so badly to be nursed by mom and to get attention from datuk (grandad), and drink popo (granma)’s soup. I wanted to go home so badly that I logged on to flight sites and booked a ticket back to Malaysia.

Yes... that’s right. I didn’t know how bad my condition was until I saw the itinerary email that AirAsia sent to me.

So anyhoot, this year came, and I kept that secret from my family since then. Boarded the plane with uncomfortable black leather seats, and flew 5.30 hours from Perth to KL. I got to spend a day in Perth, which I intended to just laze around, yet it turned out to be a day I met up with so many people!

Ok, back to the story... I was greeted by Tim with roses and signboard with my name on it. That was my 1st ever name-on-signboard-when-arriving-at-airport thingy! Hahah... then we headed to the Curve for lunch (extremely spicy Indonesian food), and we witnessed the endless queue that led to Zara’s massive sale at CineLeisure. Crazy!

After that we headed to the bowling place where my mom and sis always go to on Thursday evenings. Tim called my mom to arrange for a meet up as he had something to pass to her from Australia. He walked in to the bowling place, said hi to mom, and told her that the thing for her is too big and it’s outside. Then I walked in casually to taste the moment of surprise. Haha! That’s so worth the looong flight. Mom and sis were shocked beyond words, cuz all mom cud say was “she’s supposed to be in Australia!”.

Later that night, my cousins made an ambush towards my dad who still didn’t know I was back. That surprised look on dad was priceless as well. I’ve to give credit to my cousins, especially Theresa, who was the master mind behind this plan. I was so glad to be back with my family. Really miss those Saturday nights when we’d go pasar malam together, then sit around the table and talk about anything talkable, and laugh about anything unlaughable.
Even though it was just for 3 days and 2 nights, I got to spend my birthday with my family, hug and kiss Charmaine when she’s half asleep, talk about the good ol’ days with cousins, aunties and uncles, hold my grandparents’ hands, sing with Charmaine while we wait for mom and dad to wake up for dinner.

I also got to set up a facebook account for Charmaine, break the last string of my mom’s guitar, attend Shirley and David’s wedding, meet mama’s new dog (Bubble), drive over to have a short mamak session with Heidi, have curry fish head with grandparents and kau fu, have breakfast with dad, hug Sandra and play with her dog, chat with Boon Pin and play with his dog, and eat my drumstick and red eggs which we get every year on our birthdays (I missed out 3 years of this man!!!).

Oh well, back to Adelaide, with another surprise story to tell. Stay tuned~

I woke up this morning (well, it was the afternoon already, but just for the sake of writing it, it shall be morning) with 2 words floating around me: overwhelming, and undeserving.

The past few days were AMAZING, and my little self can’t take anything more than this! I flew all the way back to Malaysia to surprise my family on my birthday, and came all the way back to Adelaide to be surprised by my friends with the most randomest events!
I’ll start blogging about them once I get my hands on some pictures.

As for now, I wanna say thank you all for making me feel so special!!!! And to ee may who requested that I update my blog, well, gotta gimme some time. Kinda caught up with heaps of stuff now. anyhow, I miss u heaps!

I saw the geek in the pink

Very few of you would know that I really really like Jason Mraz. Well, not much of the person himself but his style of music and his word play in lyrics. Love the funkiness and groove.

Many of you would know that I have not been employed since I graduated and have been pretty tight on the $pending lately. And many of you may also have known that Jason Mraz made Adelaide one of his stops for his world tour; and yes... I dreaded the fact that JM was so close yet so far.

...and most of you know that I have this super awesome boyfriend who loves me so much that he gave me the chance to not live like a poor jobless person who is stripped off the opportunity to even think about having some true concert experience of her favourite singer.

So he surprised me with an advanced birthday gift...
Wooohooo!!! Tim did not just bought the tickets just like that. He made sure someone I know is going for the concert too cuz he didn’t want me to go alone.

So yeah, I went with a bunch of friends who I didn’t know liked Jason Mraz as much as I do too (just that I’m the cheapo fan who did not buy the t-shirt or his CDs).

Though I really enjoyed the concert which had Missy Higgins performing as well, and JM & his band was super entertaining, I wished the person who bought my ticket was there with me too.
